The best thing you can do for you marine engine, weather it be an inboard or an outboard, is to protect it with an anti-corrosion spray. I have used a few different brands over the years. Mercury marine sells "Corrosion guard" that works well and is very cheap(about $6.00 a 12oz can). If you spray it on a clean engine block it will keep it from getting corroded and make it come apart better so you can save money on repair bills( 6 bucks well spent)
Another product developed by the Boeing company(plane and jet builder) is T-9 it is a bit more expensive at about $18.00 a 12oz can this stuff works great its a bit thicker film.
The next brand is "CorrosionX HD" this stuff is good for your boat trailer springs axle and frame. and sells for about $16.00.
But whatever you use, use something. This will give you more life out of whatever you spray it on. Laughing NOT FOR HUMANS
